Spalletti compares Conceição to “early Salah” after a strong performance vs Genoa
Francisco “Chico” Conceição continues to impress, and his latest performance has earned high praise from his coach Luciano Spalletti, who made a striking comparison after the match against Genoa.
Speaking after the game, Spalletti compared the young Portuguese winger to an early version of Mohamed Salah, a player he knows very well from his time at Roma. “The comparison with the first Salah is correct,” he said, highlighting Conceição’s potential and playing style.
The Juventus winger once again showed his qualities on the pitch, especially in one-on-one situations. His speed, intensity and ability to beat defenders made him one of the most dangerous players during the match.
Spalletti also pointed out areas for improvement. “He is still young and has things to learn,” he explained. “He needs to understand that he can also play more inside the pitch and improve his decision-making in the final pass.”
Despite this, the coach was clear about his value. “As a wide attacker, he is one of the strongest I have seen,” Spalletti added, praising his aggression and creativity.
The comparison with Salah also comes at a time when Liverpool included Conceição on the list as a possible long-term replacement, as already reported.
For now, however, the focus remains on his growth, with Juventus enjoying the rise of one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.
